How to build an anonymous website
I have been a customer of Njalla for four or five years. I am not affiliated. They sell anonymous domain registration and server hosting. The business is based in Seychelles. Completely offshore. The domain is registered to them. The box can be theirs too.
You do not need to be doing anything wrong. I just do not want my own details sitting on a public website.
Domains at €15 a year, registered to them
Search any name you would buy on Google Domains or
GoDaddy. If it is free, it is €15 a year. The registrant is Njalla, not you. Transfer it into your name whenever you want.
Servers from €15 a month
If you want to host the site there, the starting server is €15 a month. You can register with SSH keys if you want less identity on the account. Pay with Bitcoin,
Monero, or
PayPal if you want it simple.
They do not hand the name over
Read the blog if you want the flavour. An Indian police inspector wrote asking for a customer. They sent back jokes and diagrams. Even when police message, they will not give the file up. I believe we should have that protection. I am not that worried about Facebook tracking me. I am worried about my name on a public domain.
I am not telling you to do anything illegal. I have no idea what every customer uses this for. For data protection on a public site, €15 a month to be sure the WHOIS is not you is cheap.
A hidden domain is not a hidden payments trail
Take card payments and people can still find you. Crypto is leakier than it used to be. You stay tied in somewhere.
The case I actually use it for is simpler. A blog. Or an information aggregator that pulls from a lot of sources. I do not want someone to know who owns the domain. There can be copyright noise on that kind of site. This is the registrar I would use so the name is not mine.
More than DigitalOcean. Still cheap
The servers cost more than DigitalOcean. Not by a stupid amount. I have never had an issue. Good value if the point is a public domain that does not list you.

Hey guys. Another sort of service. I just quite like an interesting, useful service. I just thought maybe people don't know about that. I'd like to introduce you to, I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but I've been a customer of theirs for four years, five years now, maybe. So they basically offer a completely anonymous domain registration and also server hosting service. So everything is hosted through their business which is based in Seychelles even. I never, yeah, so it's completely, completely offshore. And not like you need the privacy because even if you're not doing anything wrong or anything different or illegal, you just don't want your own information to be accessible online.
I find so you can buy any domain that is available through like Google Domains, GoDaddy, whatever you use, you can search for it here. And it will be 15 euros per year. It's very, very reasonable, really very reasonable, and it is actually registered to them. But you can move over into your name at any time you can transfer it across and then they also offer like your own servers. So if you're looking somewhere to host a website you can literally set it up here again, starting price 15 euros per month is really very good.
You can register with like SSH keys, depending how anonymous you really want to be. And you can also pay with Bitcoin as well. So you can pay Bitcoin, Monero and PayPal, if you just want to keep it simple. And also another, if you just want something entertaining and you can actually read that blog where you can see they have some very funny things like the police inspector of India reaching out to them and they're just trolling them sending back. Funny, funny pictures yeah, funny diagrams and so on.
So they take this privacy, like you can literally see this is when some, even when police are messaging, asking for information, they're absolutely not willing to give them up, which I personally believe in that we should have like protection of our own data. And I'm not so worried about like Facebook tracking me and so on, but because you host a website you don't really want like all of your information shown online. So I think this is a really good solution to that. Not that I'm suggesting you to do anything illegal.
I've got no idea what these guys are doing, if it's even a thing illegal. But just for like a data protection privacy point of view, I think to pay 15 euros per month and be a hundred percent sure that your data is completely safe and anonymous. When you're putting out a public domain, a public website, I think it's a very worthwhile investment. So if anyone was looking for how to stay anonymous, when they're launching a business and so on, this is a very good route to explore.
Of course, if you're like taking payments online and so on, unless it is being done through crypto, which even then KYC is turned on these days anymore people will still be able to find you. So it's like you're still going to be tied into it in some way, but if you don't want someone to know who owns the domain, for example, if you own a blog or like some of what I said, I'm doing recently as some of these sort of information aggregators where we're like pulling in data from all these various different sources.
And I don't know, there could potentially be like some copyright issues or something like that. This is the service I would use to just remain anonymous. Yeah. So the name is Njalla and is highly recommended by me. I've never had any issue from them at all. It is going to be a bit more expensive on like the servers compared to DigitalOcean or something like that, but it's really nothing. Nothing out of the question. This is not that overpriced at all. It's very good value for money.
